Active starts with the 300-hp 2.3L EcoBoost® engine, heated front seats, Adaptive Cruise Control, a 10-way power driver’s seat, and a power liftgate. ST-Line sharpens the appearance with 20-inch Ebony Black-painted machined aluminum wheels, blackout lighting treatments, red-stitched seating, a 360-degree camera, and a 10-speaker B&O® audio system. Tremor® is the specialist for unpaved terrain. Intelligent 4WD is standard, accompanied by a Torsen® limited-slip rear axle, increased ride height, off-road-tuned suspension, underbody protection, all-terrain tires, and selectable Off-Road mode. The stronger 3.0L EcoBoost V6 is available. Platinum™ turns toward luxury with heated second-row seats, ambient lighting, and a 14-speaker 980W B&O audio system. Premium leather and multicontour front seats with Active Motion® massage are available, as is the 3.0L V6 for 2027. ST makes that V6 standard and adds sport-tuned suspension, performance brakes with red-painted calipers, 21-inch wheels, quad exhaust outlets, and heated and ventilated front seats.

The standard 2.3L EcoBoost I-4 develops 300 hp and 310 lbs. ft. of torque and powers Active, ST-Line, Tremor, and Platinum. The twin-turbocharged 3.0L EcoBoost V6 produces up to 400 hp and 415 lbs. ft. of torque. It is standard on ST and available on Tremor and Platinum.

Every 2027 Explorer® can tow up to 5,000 lbs. with its standard Class III Trailer Tow Package, which includes a hitch receiver, seven-wire harness, and 4- and 7-pin connectors. Six selectable drive modes adapt responses to different conditions, while Trailer Sway Control and Side-Wind Stabilization add support when hauling. Tremor emphasizes rough-terrain capability, while ST uses dedicated chassis tuning and performance brakes for more energetic road manners.

Standard second-row captain’s chairs create seating for 6, while an available bench increases capacity to 7 on every trim except Tremor. Active and ST-Line provide 150.3 cu. ft. of passenger volume and up to 85.8 cu. ft. of maximum cargo space. Tremor, Platinum, and ST offer up to 85.3 cu. ft., and all trims retain 16.3 cu. ft. behind the third row. Active and ST-Line provide 43 inches of front legroom, 37.5 inches in the second row, and 31.8 inches in the third. Higher trims add Miko® suede, leather, ambient lighting, massaging seats, and PowerFold® third-row seating.

A 13.2-inch center display anchors Ford Digital Experience, with wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility and a 5G modem. Available features include Wi-Fi® connectivity for up to 10 devices, Google Maps™, streaming services, and Google Assistant™.

Ford Co-Pilot360® technology is standard and includes Adaptive Cruise Control. ST-Line, Tremor, Platinum, and ST add a 360-degree camera, while available Ford BlueCruise supports hands-free highway driving. The available Ford Security Package adds theft alerts, Start Inhibit, and stolen-vehicle assistance.
